The role of neuro-inflammation in Frontotemporal dementia

Project summary

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is the second most common type of presenile dementia. A hereditary form is found in 30-40% of all FTD patients. There is growing evidence that inflammation in the brain (neuro-inflammation) plays a role in dementia. In this study we will investigate the role of neuro-inflammation in genetic FTD.

Impact

This project may provide more insight into the pathophysiology of FTD and the prognostic significance of the findings.
